Take Your Time and Pray

My prayer is that you found this site before you invested a lot of money in anything. As you read the articles on this site you should begin to get an idea of ways that you can make money and begin to see what other people are doing to make money. You need to get an “eye” for what people are trying to sell you so that you don’t get drawn into something that you shouldn’t. On Christian Business Opportunity | Online we will talk about the ways people try and make money on the Internet. We will look at how you can start your own blog/website for free. We will look at a method for starting a blog/website for under $100 (one hundred dollars) a year that will give more flexibility than a free blog. We will look at Affiliate Marketing. We will look at Niche sites. Ultimately we will talk about the importance of finding something you can be passionate about which really determines who is able to be successful on the Internet and who isn’t.

Look for the Angle

When you are on different Web Sites you need to have discernment about what they might be selling. I was on a site with a similar topic to this one and they were offering their domain name for sale for $2500. That is a lot of money when you consider that this particular keyword “Christian Business Opportunity” doesn’t get that much traffic (if you don’t know about keywords and traffic read an article I wrote called “Keywords, Keywords, Keywords” on one of my other blogs called My Newbie Blog). I actually put this site up for free (I will tell you how in another article on the site) and I will probably have about 10 hours invested in writing the articles and getting everything set up. Then it could take months before it begins to show on search results. If you have been paying attention to this article you should be asking “So, what is your angle?”. I’ll tell you. First, as a believer, I am convinced that you reap what you sow. I want to sow what I have learned to help other people. Second, let me list for you every way this site could make money.

• I put a Virtual Cup of Coffee on the site. If the site blesses someone they might buy me a cup. If they do it cost’s them $5 and I get $4.55. Not many people will do this but maybe 1 a month.
• I put a Donations Welcome button on the bottom of the page. Not many people will do this either but you never know, if by reading these articles someone saves themselves big money maybe they will send $5 or $10 to me.
• If someone decides to take my recommendation to buy a domain name and a web host and they use the Web Hosting Company I recommend (GoodNewsDomains.com) I can make $5 or $10 dollars.
• Once I have written the articles I want to write for the site I will probably put in some Google Adsense ads. My guess from the traffic study I did is that this could make $10 or $15 dollars a month.
• I will offer my service as a consultant to help people learn to get their blog set up and give them some tips on getting it noticed by search engines. I offer that service for $200 (two Hundred dollars). Since I provide a lot of information on my other site, My Newbie Blog, for free, only people that are really interested in learning the process will decide to sign up for consulting.

If you do the math, this site might realistically make $25-$50 dollars a month if it gets traffic. Maybe a couple of people will sign up for some consulting. Let’s say that if things went really well this site might make $800 (eight hundred dollars) a year. If they don’t go well, the site could just as easily make $0 (zero dollars). Either way, I’m good. I have 10 hours in it and it might help some people. I will leave the rest in God’s hands. There is no place I would rather be! Blessings!

A web host will provide you with more flexibility for your business opportunities as well. At a cost of about $80 (eighty dollars) a year. If your site is web hosted you have more flexibility with the advertising you can do and also with the way you maintain your site and the way your site looks. If you use Good News Domains as your web host you will also be able to add up to 24 more blogs without paying any more money (we will talk more about this when we talk about niche sites). Affiliate Programs

There are a lot of great affiliate programs available. ChristianBook.com has an affiliate program. Amazon.com also has an affiliate program. There is a site called Commission Junction that handles the affiliate marketing for a lot of major companies like Apple and Dell. Link Junction also carries a lot of big companies. You can sign up for these program for free. If you would like to see an affiliate link in action you can check out a site I have called Christian Book Club Online. If you go to the Christian Book Club Offers page you will see links to ChristianBooks.com and Amazon.com. If you were to buy a book from either of those links I would make 4 to 10 percent. I suggest you find products to market that fit your passion, not the other way around. In our next article we will discuss Niche sites.
